Overwatch season 5 is set to launch with the new support hero Doctrine and the Escort map Grímsvötn. Alongside these additions, Blizzard has detailed a variety of new cosmetic items, including Halloween-themed skins, collaborations, and a Mythic skin for Lúcio.
The season's battle pass will feature several Halloween-inspired Legendary skins: Ghostly Belle Ashe, Jack O’ Ripper Soldier: 76, Ghost Bride Mei, Bat Empress Junker Queen, and Autumn Fox Zenyatta. Three Epic skins are also included: Skelly Bastion, Witching Hour Brigitte, and Spectral Shroud Symmetra. The Ultimate version of the battle pass will grant players Crimson Regent Doctrine and Ghost Voyager Venture Legendary skins.
Additionally, players can acquire new “Tech Witches” skins for D.Mon, Shion, Juno, Sierra, and Jetpack Cat, available in the in-game shop from October 9-26. Other shop additions include new Legendary skins for Mizuki, Domina, Cassidy, Ashe (and BOB), Moira, and Ana, alongside returning Dokiwatch skins for Mercy, Ilari, Lifeweaver, Ramattra, and Anran.
Lúcio is receiving the Treblemaker Mythic Weapon skin, which features a breakdancing frog within the weapon. This skin progresses through four levels, with each tier adding custom effects for healing, firing, kill notifications, and a reload experience.
The support hero Wuyang will also receive a new Mythic skin, Dragon Shaoxia Wuyang, which includes a dragon familiar and customizable elements.
A significant collaboration is also planned, bringing five skins inspired by the anime Solo Leveling to Overwatch between October 6-26. These include Genji as Sung Jinwoo, Reaper as Igris, Anran as Cha Hae-In, Reinhardt as Iron, and Lifeweaver as Choi Jong-In.
The new Escort map, Grímsvötn, is described as a former Overwatch Watchpoint that later housed dangerous criminals. Talon has taken control of the prison, and players will push through the location as the consequences of Doctrine's escape unfold.
