Palworld's significant 1.0 update has arrived, bringing with it a substantial expansion of its creature roster, adding 72 new Pals to the game. While most of these additions are catchable, all contribute to the Palpagos Islands' increasingly comprehensive Palpedia. This influx of new content significantly increases the scope of exploration, particularly with the introduction of the World Tree region.
Navigating the New Additions
The sheer number of new Pals and the expanded map can make tracking them a daunting task. To assist players, a comprehensive guide has been compiled, detailing the most likely locations to encounter each new creature for the first time. While some Pals appear in multiple regions, they are listed once for clarity, with notes indicating alternative spawn points. The guide also provides level recommendations for various regions, though players should note these do not account for challenging regional bosses.
Players are advised to catch at least five of each Pal to benefit from bonus experience and acquire a Mimog Effigy. Essential tools for collection include the Pal Tamer's Glasses, Ring of Mercy, or a Pal with the Mercy Hit skill to prevent wild Pals from dropping below 1 HP before capture. Ample Pal Spheres are also recommended, as stocking up is crucial for collecting multiple specimens for bonuses or desirable passive skills.
Early Game Encounters (Levels 1-30)
The initial areas, Windswept Hills and Moonless Shore, are home to several early-game Pals. Pupperai and Clovee can be found as players progress north from the Plateau of Beginnings on Windswept Island. Tanzee Ignis and Wispaw spawn closer to the Autumn Rocks. Amione, a Water-type Pal, is found floating over the water and also appears in Sunreach. Muffly, an Ice-type Pal, populates the Moonless Shore and can also be found in Sunreach. Wispaw, a Dark-type Pal, spawns at night and can be located in the Marsh Island and The World Tree regions as well.
Mid-Game Exploration (Levels 20-45)
Moving into areas like the Bamboo Groves and Twilight Dunes, players can find Puffolt (Electric), Elgrove (Grass), and Skutlass (Water). Puffolt and Elgrove share spawn areas within the Bamboo Groves, while Skutlass is found along the beaches of the Twilight Dunes. Elgrove can also be found in the No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary. Players should exercise caution in the Twilight Dunes due to the presence of higher-level Pals.
The Frostbound Mountains and Verdant Brook areas introduce Leafan (Grass) and Snugloo (Ice). Leafan is readily available in the Verdant Brook, while Snugloo requires cold-weather gear for the Frostbound Mountains. Mount Obsidian, recommended for levels 35-45, is where Moldron (Fire/Ground) can be encountered, and also appears on Bicornis Islet.
Expanding Territories and Higher Levels
The Desiccated Dunes and various islets offer Needoll (Grass), Gildra (Dark/Ground), Sekhmet (Ground), and Tetroise (Ground). Needoll can also be found on Scouring Islet, Gildra has no noted alternative spawns, Sekhmet appears on Sandstone Gate Islet, and Tetroise's primary location is the Desiccated Dunes. Flamepulse Islet is home to Skutlass Ignis (Water/Fire) and Pierdon (Ground), with Skutlass Ignis also appearing in The World Tree, and Pierdon located on Bicornis Islet. Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3 and Islet of Circular Ruins contain Carnibora (Grass) and Nitemary Botan (Grass).
Higher-level regions like the Astral Mountains (Levels 40-55) introduce Rayhound Cryst (Ice), Dualith (Ground/Grass), and associated variants. Rayhound Cryst and Dualith can also be found in The World Tree. Sakurajima and Suncrest Islet, recommended for levels 45-60, feature Bulldosu (Ground) and variants like Woolipop Terra (Ground) and Polapup Terra (Ice/Water).

The update also includes challenging bosses like Panthalus (Water) guarding access to The World Tree, and Astralym, the final boss of the region, which cannot be caught but provides a conclusion to the new storyline.
