Pocketpair, the developer behind the popular survival game Palworld, has announced that the game's price will remain at $29.99 for its 1.0 launch on July 10. This decision comes despite the game's Early Access page stating that the price might increase closer to the official release.

In a statement shared on social media, Pocketpair expressed gratitude for the game's overwhelming success, attributing it to player support. "As a small way of saying thank you, we'll be keeping the price at $29.99," the developer said. "We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams."

Palworld has achieved significant milestones since its Early Access debut, attracting 40 million players and breaking sales and concurrent player records. The game's massive popularity led Pocketpair to form Palworld Entertainment with Sony to further expand the intellectual property, which has since launched on PlayStation 5.

Despite its commercial success, Pocketpair has faced challenges. Following its launch, Palworld drew comparisons to Nintendo's Pokémon franchise, with some accusing the developer of design imitation. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company initiated legal action, seeking damages and an injunction against Palworld. A judgment in this case is anticipated later this year.

As the 1.0 update approaches, Pocketpair has teased extensive changes and additions, with Head of Publishing and Communications John “Bucky” Buckley detailing 27 pages of patch notes. Buckley also advised existing players that while they can continue their current saves, starting anew with the 1.0 release is recommended to experience the full scope of new content and overhauled mechanics. "We will leave that choice up to you, Pal Tamers!" Buckley stated.
