Palworld 1.0 is set to release on Friday, July 10, marking the end of the game's early access period. However, the sheer volume of changes planned for the full release has presented an unexpected challenge for developer Pocketpair: the patch notes are too large to fit on Steam.
Bucky, Pocketpair's head of publishing and communications, shared on social media that the patch notes exceeded Steam's 32,000-character limit. The notes reportedly spanned 65,000 characters and 40 pages, more than double the platform's allowance. Pocketpair has since found a way to adjust the notes without compromising content.
A new trailer released for Palworld 1.0 offers a glimpse into the substantial update. It will introduce over 20 new Pals and unlock the World Tree region, bringing the main story to a close. Significant reworkings are also planned for Tower bosses, Wildlife Sanctuaries, and No-Hunting Zones. While existing saves are expected to be compatible with version 1.0, Pocketpair advises players to start fresh for the optimal experience.
Palworld will retain its early access price of $29.99 upon exiting early access. This pricing remains despite previous indications on Steam that the cost might increase closer to the full launch. The game has achieved significant success since its early access debut, recently surpassing 40 million players just days before its 1.0 release.
Palworld is available on Mac, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
