The anticipated 1.0 update for Palworld is set to launch on July 10, developer Pocketpair has announced, with the studio offering an approximate release time and guidance on save data.

Pocketpair aims for a midday release on July 10, Japan time, specifically 12:30 PM JST. This translates to 8:30 PM PT on July 9 for Los Angeles, 11:30 PM ET on July 9 for New York, and 4:30 AM UK time on July 10.

Pocketpair communications director and publishing manager John “Bucky” Buckley emphasized in a Discord post that this timing is an estimate and not a guaranteed exact launch. The approximate global release times are as follows:

Los Angeles: 8:30 PM PT on July 9 New York: 11:30 PM ET on July 9 London: 4:30 AM UK time on July 10 Tokyo: 12:30 PM Japan time on July 10 Sydney: 1:30 PM AEST on July 10

Regarding player save data, Buckley advised that while players are not required to wipe their existing data, starting a new game is strongly recommended. "We want to respect the time and effort you have put in," Buckley stated, explaining that the significant overhauls to mechanics and the addition of new content in the 1.0 update would provide the best experience for those beginning fresh.

Palworld has experienced a highly successful Early Access period since its launch in early 2024. The game was released on Steam for $30 and simultaneously became available on Xbox and PC Game Pass, quickly breaking sales and concurrent player records. Pocketpair previously established Palworld Entertainment to expand the intellectual property and has since launched the game on PlayStation 5.

The game faced scrutiny early in its release with comparisons drawn between its creatures, Pals, and those from the Pokémon franchise, leading to accusations of design theft. Legal proceedings regarding potential copyright infringement are ongoing, with a judgment expected later this year.

Buckley has also teased that the patch notes for the 1.0 update will be extensive, detailing 27 pages of changes and additions.
