Sekhmet, the feline Pal, has emerged as the favorite among global players in a recent poll conducted by Palworld developer Pocketpair. Sekhmet garnered 49,637 votes, securing its position as the most popular Pal. Solenne followed in second place with 37,425 votes, and Chillet secured third with 34,625. Verdash ranked last with 1,479 votes.
Alongside the poll results, Pocketpair teased an upcoming winter update titled Palworld: Side by Side. The developer shared three human silhouettes, sparking speculation among the community. Reddit theories suggest these figures represent Auri, Zoe, and Saya, characters who were previously top picks in the poll. Given that Zoe was made a recruitable companion after a prior poll, it is possible that the Side by Side update will allow players to team up with this trio.
In an August interview at Gamescom, Pocketpair's head of publishing and communications, John “Bucky” Buckley, indicated that the next update would feature content that players have been requesting. He also noted that the update's timing was intentionally chosen to avoid the release window of Grand Theft Auto VI, suggesting a launch sometime outside of November. Buckley described the upcoming addition as something players have wanted for a long time, stating it would not require players to restart their games to experience it, nor would it be a massive overhaul.
Players looking to return to Palworld can find information on new Pals added in the 1.0 update, a guide to all bosses, and an interactive map detailing Alpha Pals, effigies, and more.
