Pocketpair's open-world survival game Palworld has achieved remarkable success following its 1.0 release, selling over 30 million premium copies. The game has also seen its biggest concurrent player peaks since its early access launch in 2024. These sales figures contribute to an estimated $700 million in gross revenue from unit sales alone.
In addition to premium purchases, Palworld reached an additional 10 million players through its availability on Xbox and PC Game Pass. A recent 30 percent discount on Steam, which concluded this week, helped the game sell nearly 1.5 million additional copies and generate $25 million in gross revenue. This promotional period contributed to Steam's significant lead in player distribution, with 64.9 percent of players opting for the Steam version. The Xbox and PlayStation versions hold 31.1 percent and 4 percent of the player base, respectively.
The United States and China represent Palworld's largest markets on Steam, each accounting for approximately 27 percent of the player base. The recent surge in player numbers indicates a strong return for players who had engaged with the game during its early access period. Specific data on these returning lapsed players, however, has not been released.
Beyond sales figures, Pocketpair has hinted at the possibility of cosmetic skins for Pals. Furthermore, Palworld was featured in a recent Fortnite in-game survey, prompting speculation about potential collaborations, despite ongoing legal challenges, particularly with Nintendo. While the game has faced numerous issues, including legal battles, its popularity suggests a sustained presence in the gaming landscape.
