Pocketpair has announced that Palworld has achieved over 40 million players across all platforms just ahead of its official 1.0 launch. This figure marks a significant accomplishment for the game, which has been in early access for two and a half years.
The developer shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude to the community for their support. "Palworld passes 40 million players," the studio stated. "Thank you all so much for your incredible support! Over the last two and a half years, Palworld has grown alongside our community."
The 40 million player count likely includes a mix of direct sales and players accessing the game through Xbox's Game Pass subscription service, as Palworld frequently appears on Steam's best-seller charts and is available on Game Pass. The player base is expected to grow further with the impending 1.0 update.
1.0 Update Details
The upcoming 1.0 release will introduce substantial changes to Palworld. Revealed during Summer Game Fest with a cinematic trailer, the update promises several new Pals to discover, an enhanced combat system, and revamped raid mechanics. Players can also anticipate updated quests and main storyline missions designed to deepen the game's lore.
Pocketpair had previously considered increasing the game's price post-early access but has decided against it. "After much thought, we have decided not to raise the price of Palworld following the 1.0 release and will keep it at $29.99," the developer confirmed. "We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams."
Palworld is currently available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The game is not available on Nintendo Switch consoles. Pocketpair faced legal action from Nintendo in 2024 concerning alleged patent infringement, leading to game mechanic adjustments in a 2025 update.
