The official Palworld trading card game, a collaboration between developer Pocketpair and Bushiroad, has officially launched, leading to a surge in prices on secondary markets like eBay as scalpers capitalize on the new release. The first wave of cards, "Dawn of Palpagos," became available on July 30, 2026, and has quickly drawn comparisons to the Pokémon trading card game phenomenon.
Listings on eBay for everything from booster box cases to individual cards have appeared, with some rare items commanding exorbitant prices. A single booster box case, which normally retails for around $499.99, was seen selling for approximately $1,800. Early buyers who received their orders before the official launch date began listing cards immediately.
The Cattiva Gold Soul Card, reportedly the rarest in the initial set, was listed as selling for nearly $4,000 shortly before the official release date. Another card, the Jormuntide Ignis, reportedly sold for $1,300 even earlier. Following the general launch, a master case, containing three regular cases, sold for $5,990 within 24 hours.
While these inflated prices are reminiscent of those seen in the Pokémon TCG community, some market stabilization has occurred in the days since initial orders were fulfilled. For instance, the Gold Cattiva cards that initially sold for close to $4,000 are now reportedly trading for around $1,000 each.
Despite the scalper activity, the Palworld TCG appears to have had a strong launch. Pocketpair announced on July 9 that it had secured over 3.5 million pre-orders for its card packs. The "Dawn of Palpagos" set includes over 50 unique Pals with original artwork. A second booster set, "Legends Awaken," is scheduled for release in October.
