Palworld has officially launched its 1.0 version, concluding its early access period with a substantial update that introduces new areas, mechanics, and a significant number of additional Pals. This major patch brings a complete overhaul to various aspects of the game, including revamped story missions, a new island to explore, updated settlements, and 72 more creatures to collect.

The game's narrative has been reworked, with new story missions guiding players towards the previously inaccessible World Tree. Additional sub-missions, new NPCs, and journals have been scattered across the world to provide further lore and context.

Palworld 1.0 expands its roster with 47 brand-new Pals and 25 variants, bringing the total count to 287. Many of these new creatures can be discovered in the newly added Sunreach area, a cluster of islands floating above Palpagos. Sunreach features unique Pals, specialized ore types, and hidden tower bosses.

Beyond Sunreach, seven new small islands have been added, each with distinct biomes. Ancient Ruins now offer new exploration opportunities and minigames that yield valuable schematics. The game's Wildlife Sanctuaries have also been reimagined as protected areas, each boasting unique environments, exclusive Pals, rare materials, and powerful bosses.

Two new core mechanics have been introduced: Awakening and Mutations. Awakening allows players to enhance their Pals by collecting Radiant Gems found near the World Tree. Mutations, a feature added to the game's breeding system, introduce a low chance of producing Pals with higher stats and unique passive skills than standard breeding outcomes. New cake types have also been added to influence breeding results, offering bonuses to stats, egg production, mutation chances, and passive skill inheritance.

The update also brings numerous quality-of-life improvements and gameplay adjustments. The player level cap has been raised from 65 to 80, with new technologies and equipment, including a new glider type and the Plasma Multicutter gathering tool, becoming available. Pal Effigies have been reworked into a collectible for enhancing player stats. Combat and Pal behavior have also seen adjustments, alongside improvements to riding controls and base building.

Pocketpair, the developer, has stated that the game's price will remain $30 following its full launch on PC and consoles. Palworld had already reached 40 million players prior to this 1.0 release.
