Fortnite is set to welcome characters from Atlus's acclaimed role-playing game, Persona 5, in its upcoming Chapter 7 Season 4, officially titled 'Override.' This season, themed around Gaming Legends, will also feature Sonic the Hedgehog.

A brief teaser from Atlus showcased Persona 5's protagonist, Joker, running through a futuristic environment. Epic Games is expected to reveal further details about the collaboration and its specific content at a later date.

The addition of Persona 5 to Fortnite coincides with the RPG's 10-year anniversary. Since its original release, Persona 5 has expanded into a significant franchise with an updated edition, an anime adaptation, and multiple spin-off titles. The series has previously crossed over with other live-service games, a trend that has, for some players, fueled a superstitious belief known as the 'Persona 5 curse.' This theory posits that live-service titles collaborating with Persona 5 are destined to shut down within a year.

However, numerous games, including Overwatch, Granblue Fantasy, and Another Eden, have featured Persona 5 collaborations without apparent negative consequences. Whether this perceived curse holds any weight or is merely a coincidence tied to games nearing the end of their lifecycle remains a subject of speculation among fans.
