Phantom Blade Zero Confirms Physical Release, But Not Until 2027

Phantom Blade Zero, the upcoming wuxia action RPG from developer S-Game, will receive a physical release, though it will not be available on day one. The physical edition is slated for release in 2027, several months after the game's digital launch.

The game is set to release on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Games Store on October 28. Pre-orders for the digital version will allow players to preload the game starting October 26 at 10 p.m. ET, with the game launching at the same time on October 28.

While many publishers have shifted away from physical media, S-Game confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero's physical edition will indeed include a disc, rather than just a redemption code. This addresses concerns players may have had about the viability of physical copies for the title.

Three physical editions are planned: the standard edition, priced at $59.99, will include the base game. The deluxe edition, costing $69.99, will add a digital art book, the soundtrack, and in-game skins "Wulin Legend" and "Blood-Steel form." A third "Ultimate Edition" will include a collectible steel book, but its price and full contents are not yet known. It remains unconfirmed whether these physical editions will come with any pre-order bonuses.

Phantom Blade Zero is known for its combat, which draws inspiration from real-world martial arts and soulslike gameplay. Action star Donnie Yen was consulted on combat design for the title. Above is a scene from the forthcoming game Phantom Blade Zero.
