Playground Games, the studio behind Forza Horizon 6, has publicly addressed the game's community following a prolonged period of player dissatisfaction and a perceived lack of communication. In a post shared across its social media channels, the developer stated, "We're reading all your comments about Forza Horizon 6, and we realize that we haven't been talking with you as much as we could be." The studio acknowledged feedback concerning post-launch updates and indicated that it is "looking into future changes to both in-game content and the ways we communicate with you."
Forza Horizon 6, which received a perfect 10/10 score from IGN at launch, has seen its community express frustration over what they describe as a significant absence of developer engagement. Content creators such as STEVIO2175, AR12Gaming, HokiHoshi, and Ericship 111 have highlighted player concerns, including the perceived lack of communication and the omission of features present in previous Forza titles. A notable criticism is the requirement for players to engage with Horizon Festival playlists to access new vehicles, many of which are recycled from earlier games, rather than allowing free exploration of preferred modes.
The absence of the regular "Forza Monthly" community show has also fueled speculation, with some suggesting it might be a consequence of recent restructuring and layoffs within Xbox. Another point of contention for the community is the lack of in-game voice chat in Forza Horizon 6, an omission players find particularly peculiar given that the more simulation-focused Forza Motorsport title includes this feature.
STEVIO2175 expressed that the game's replayability beyond single-player content is questionable without the addition of improved socialization and community features, warning that player interest could continue to decline. The ongoing lack of communication from Playground Games has been a central theme in the community's critique.
Furthermore, the PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 6, originally slated for a 2026 release, remains without a firm launch date, raising further questions about the game's development roadmap and support. Simultaneously, a separate team at Playground Games is nearing the completion of its work on the Fable reboot, scheduled for release on February 23, 2027. The proximity of Fable's development may have impacted resources allocated to Forza Horizon 6.
