PlayStation has announced a new collaboration with rapper, singer, and actress Lisa, set to launch this October. The partnership will bring a limited-edition DualSense wireless controller with a suggested retail price of $84.99, alongside a range of other merchandise.
The collection will be released in two distinct assortments. Preorders for the DualSense controller will begin in the U.S. on October 2, with the full collection rolling out on October 30. A promotional video featuring Lisa has also been released to accompany the announcement.
The limited-edition controller features a soft grey color scheme. Its main design element is an artistic interpretation of Lisa's blue, mascara-laden eyes, with the iconic PlayStation button symbols incorporated into the eye makeup. The controller also bears an "LL" logo on one side and Lisa's signature on the back.
Beyond the controller, the collection includes additional items such as tote bags, sweaters, hats, and stickers, expanding the merchandise beyond typical PlayStation offerings and aligning with Lisa's K-pop persona.
While the DualSense controller will initially be available for preorder exclusively through PlayStation, other items from the collection will be accessible via Lisa's Amazon storefront. This collaboration follows a trend of limited-edition controllers from both PlayStation and Xbox, though these are typically tied to specific game franchises. Previous celebrity collaborations for PlayStation include a Lebron James controller released in 2023.
The PlayStation x Lisa collection's release coincides with the debut of Lisa's upcoming EP, 'Press Play,' scheduled for October 23. Lisa, originally from Thailand, rose to prominence as the main rapper for the girl group Blackpink and has since launched a successful solo career, releasing albums like 'Rockstar' and appearing in acting roles, including HBO's 'White Lotus.' She also previously headlined a season of Fortnite Festival.
Lisa expressed that gaming provides her with relaxation time and that this collaboration offered a new avenue for creativity, allowing her to showcase a different facet of herself. This project marks another step in her engagement with the gaming world, following her Fortnite Festival appearance.
