The PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently experiencing a complete outage, rendering all online services inaccessible to players. The disruption, which has lasted for over six hours as of this writing, impacts crucial features including account management, the PlayStation Store, gaming and social content, and PlayStation Video. Only offline services remain functional.
The widespread outage has interrupted online gaming experiences for many. Notably, it has affected the highly anticipated open beta for Marvel's Tōkon: Fighting Souls, which was scheduled to commence today. "We're aware that some PlayStation players are experiencing login and network issues," the official Marvel's Tōkon: Fighting Souls X account stated this morning. "Our team is actively investigating the problem and working to identify the cause. We'll share updates as soon as we have information."
The PSN service status page indicates that all listed services are "experiencing issues." This includes Account Management, Gaming and Social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct. The situation is particularly inconvenient given Sony's recent announcement that it will cease production of physical discs for new games in January 2028. In the past, physical discs have often provided a fallback for accessing offline-playable content during network outages. However, some digital titles, even single-player games, require an online check-in to function, leaving players unable to access them when PSN is unavailable.
