Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the new games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for July 2026, with notable titles such as Team Ninja's action RPG Rise of the Ronin and Ubisoft's open-world adventure Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora set to become available for Extra and Premium subscribers. The new additions begin rolling out on July 15.
Rise of the Ronin, developed by Team Ninja, places players in late Edo-period Japan during the Boshin War. The game features a branching narrative that adapts to player choices regarding the nation's modernization and opening to the West. Traversal is enhanced by a glider and grappling hook, a departure from the typical Soulslike formula. The combat system allows for a variety of weapon choices, including the katana and odachi. Our review described the game as "an adventure worthy of Team Ninja’s pedigree, and a world I enthusiastically look forward to losing myself in for many more hours to come."
Several other games are scheduled to join the Game Catalog throughout July. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Firefighting Simulator: Ignite will be available starting July 21 for PS5. Later in the month, on July 28, subscribers can look forward to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind (PS4, PS5), Dying Light (PS4), Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PS5), and Snow Bros. Wonderland (PS5).
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will also gain access to Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy, both available from July 21. The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, which includes a vast library of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles, is accessible to users subscribed to the Extra or Premium tiers, serving as Sony's competitor to services like Xbox Game Pass.
In addition to the Game Catalog additions, the PlayStation Plus Essential games for July 2026 have also been confirmed, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
