PlayStation is set to host its State of Play showcase twice this week with two separate livestream events scheduled for Thursday, September 3. The first broadcast will be followed by a dedicated State of Play for Japan.

The initial State of Play event will commence at 6 a.m. PDT / 9 a.m. EDT in North America, 3 p.m. CEST in Europe, and 10 p.m. JST in Japan. This showcase will be streamed live on PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch channels.

While the exact duration of the first State of Play has not been revealed, it is confirmed to feature "updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners." A significant highlight will be an extended preview of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project, with Square Enix promising a look into its "vast world."

Immediately following the main showcase, Sony will air a new episode of State of Play Japan, hosted by Yuki Kaji. This Japanese-language broadcast, featuring English subtitles, will offer "deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more."

These events may also provide a glimpse into PlayStation's plans for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which is scheduled for the following month. The most recent broad State of Play, excluding the one focused on Phantom Blade Zero, took place in June. That earlier showcase highlighted titles such as Marvel's Wolverine, God of War Laufey, Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen, and Until Dawn 2. PlayStation Studios is also currently developing other announced titles including Fairgames, Horizon Hunters Gathering, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
