The Pokémon Trading Card Game's Ascended Heroes set, previously difficult to acquire, is now being restocked at warehouse retailers like Sam's Club and Costco, often selling below the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP).
Sam's Club has been offering an exclusive Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters box, containing 14 packs and four promo cards, for $54.98. This price point translates to less than $4 per pack, a substantial saving compared to the $5 to $6 per pack typically seen at other retailers for the same set. More recently, Sam's Club has also stocked Elite Trainer Boxes bundled with an extra Poké Ball, featuring 12 packs for $54.76.
Costco has also seen steady drops of Ascended Heroes products. Customers can find a 5-mini-tin bundle with 10 packs for $76.49. Additionally, Costco is selling Elite Trainer Boxes for $42.99, which is notably below the MSRP of $49.99.
Availability and the Retailer Catch
The primary condition for accessing these deals is a membership to either Sam's Club or Costco. The products are not released on a fixed schedule; instead, both retailers are distributing them randomly throughout the day and in multiple shipment waves. This approach is intended to deter scalpers and reduce issues like overcrowding and excessive purchasing that have plagued previous high-demand releases.
While this method may reduce the likelihood of dedicated resellers dominating sales, it still requires dedication from consumers. New product drops tend to sell out within 30 minutes, and some resellers may still gain early access through unofficial channels. However, the random distribution gives average consumers a better chance to find these sought-after products without having to wait in long lines. Many of these releases are also occurring on weekends. Joining regional social media groups dedicated to Pokémon TCG restocks can help players stay informed about potential drops.
