Pokémon Go players can look forward to a Community Day event featuring the Fox Pokémon, Nickit, on Sunday, August 16th, 2026. The event, running from 2pm to 5pm local time, will significantly increase the chances of encountering a Shiny Nickit, which sports a distinct silver and blue color scheme. This marks the debut of Shiny Nickit in the game.
During the event, trainers will also have the opportunity to catch Nickit with perfect IV stats, often referred to as 'Hundos' by the community. For trainers Level 30 and above, a perfect 15/15/15 Nickit will have a CP of 612 at Level 30, or 663 when weather-boosted at Level 35. These CP values are subject to change for players below Level 30.
Evolving Nickit into Thievul during the event or up to four hours afterward, by 9pm local time, will result in a Thievul knowing the exclusive Charged Attack, Icy Wind. This Ice-type attack boasts 60 Power for 45 Energy in Trainer Battles and 65 Power for 33 Energy in Gyms and Raids. Icy Wind is noted for its effectiveness against Dragon-type Pokémon in Master League, with the ability to lower an opponent's attack by 20%.
While Thievul's standard best moveset often includes Sucker Punch and Night Slash for Charged Attacks, Icy Wind presents a strategic choice. It offers comparable damage to Play Rough but with a guaranteed debuff, making it a valuable option for countering certain threats like Altaria. Players are advised to wait until the end of the Community Day to evolve their Nickit, ensuring they have the best possible IVs.
Several event bonuses will be active throughout the day. These include increased Nickit spawns, triple Catch Stardust, double Catch Candy, and a doubled chance for Trainers Level 31 and up to receive XL Candy. Lure Modules and Incense will have extended durations, lasting an hour and three hours respectively between 2pm and 9pm local time, with special bonuses for Lure Modules placed on PokéStops.
Additional bonuses include an extra Special Trade and a 50% reduction in Stardust cost for trades from 2pm to 9pm. Event-exclusive field research tasks will offer rewards such as Stardust, Ultra Balls, and Nickit encounters. Players can also trigger Pokémon encounters by taking snapshots during the event. A paid Special Research story will also be available.
