Pokémon Go is marking its 10th anniversary with the Ultra Unlock: 10th Anniversary Edition event, a celebration that began following the recent Go Fest 2026: Global event and continues throughout August. This event brings back a host of starter Pokémon, special research tasks, and various bonuses for players.

The Ultra Unlock: 10th Anniversary Edition event runs until Monday, July 27th, at 8 PM local time. Players can complete event-exclusive field research tasks for rewards such as Poké Balls and encounters with specific Pokémon. For instance, catching 5 Pokémon yields Poké Balls, while winning a raid offers an encounter with Professor Willow's Assistant Pikachu.

Event Bonuses and Avatar Items

A significant bonus during the event is an increasing Catch XP multiplier. This starts at x6 XP from Tuesday, July 21st, to Thursday, July 23rd, then increases to x8 XP until Saturday, July 25th, and finally reaches x10 XP from Saturday, July 25th, until the event's conclusion on Monday, July 27th. Additionally, starter Pokémon may display team-specific special backgrounds based on the player's chosen team: Instinct, Mystic, or Valor. Free avatar items themed around Professor Willow, including a lab coat, pants, gloves, shoes, backpack, and glasses, are also available in the in-game avatar store.

New Gimmighoul and Gholdengo themed stickers can be obtained by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, or purchasing them from the in-game shop. The Masterwork Research: Glimmers of Gratitude quest, which does not have a deadline, remains available for purchase.

The event also includes two mini-events: Willow's Birthday Research, running on Tuesday, July 21st, from 10 AM to 8 PM local time, and Ozone Ascent, from Saturday, July 25th, at 10 AM local time to Sunday, July 26th, at 8 PM local time.

The Five-Star raid pool includes Kyogre and Mega Sceptile until Wednesday, July 22nd, after which they will be replaced by Solgaleo and Mega Salamence.
