Pokémon Go is gearing up for a Halloween-themed Community Day event featuring the tricky Illusion Pokémon, Zorua. This event, scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, will significantly increase the appearance rate of Zorua in the wild, offering players a prime opportunity to find a shiny variant and a perfect IV (100%) Zorua.
This marks the first October Community Day since 2022 to feature a Dark/Ghost-type Pokémon. While players may have hoped for the Hisuian Zorua, the regular form will be the focus of this celebration. Successfully evolving a Zorua into Zoroark during the event or within four hours afterward will teach it the exclusive Fast Attack Sucker Punch. However, the article notes that Zoroark's existing Fast Attack, Snarl, is generally more effective in both Trainer Battles and Raids due to superior energy generation.
Zoroark itself is described as a suboptimal Pokémon for both PvP and Raids, with an Attack stat more than double its Defense. Its recommended best moveset, for theoretical purposes, is Snarl as a Fast Move and Foul Play as a Charged Move.
Beyond increased spawns and shiny odds, the event boasts several other bonuses. Trainers will receive triple Catch XP and double Catch Candy, with a doubled chance for those Level 31 and above to receive XL Candy. Lure Modules and Incense will have extended durations, lasting for one hour and three hours, respectively, during specific time windows. Additionally, Zorua will have a higher chance to appear at PokéStops with active Lure Modules during the event hours, potentially with a special background and an increased shiny chance.
Players can also benefit from an extra Special Trade and a 50% reduction in Stardust cost for trades. Event-exclusive field research tasks will offer rewards such as Stardust, Ultra Balls, and Zorua encounters, which may also feature a seasonal background. For those aiming for a perfect IV Zorua, players Level 30 and above should look for a CP of 1007 in the wild, or 1091 if weather-boosted. Shiny Zorua, first released in October 2023, features a striking blue contrast against its brown fur, while its evolution, Shiny Zoroark, adopts a palette of browns and purples.
