Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Global has introduced a set of dedicated Field Research tasks to commemorate the game's 10th anniversary. These special tasks, which function similarly to the regular seasonal Field Research, each present a unique challenge that grants a specific reward upon completion. The event activities are scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time on Saturday, July 11th, and Sunday, July 12th, 2026.
These Field Research tasks will remain in a player's collection indefinitely unless completed or deleted. Importantly, their availability appears to be linked to specific habitat hours, meaning tasks related to a particular Pokémon type will only be accessible during that type's featured hour. For instance, Dragon-type tasks will be available during the Dragonlight Summit habitat hour, which runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on Saturday, July 11th.
Common tasks are available throughout the event's main hours on both Saturday and Sunday. These include challenges such as catching eight different species of Pokémon, which can reward encounters with Pikachu Visor variants of Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, or encounters with Team Instinct, Mystic, or Valor Hat Pikachu. Other common tasks involve catching 10 Pokémon for a choice of Poké Balls, Stardust, or Ultra Balls, hatching an Egg for Stardust, or spinning five PokéStops or Gyms for Poké Balls, Stardust, or Ultra Balls.
Specific habitat hours on Saturday, July 11th, will offer specialized tasks. The Stormfire Peaks habitat hour, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. local time, features tasks for Ice-type and Electric-type Pokémon, offering encounters with Pokémon such as Lapras, Amaura, Bergmite, Tynamo, Stunfisk, and Dedenne. The Astral Tides habitat hour, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., focuses on Psychic, Ghost, and Water-type Pokémon. Players can encounter Pokémon like Spoink, Baltoy, Bronzor, Duskull, Frillish, Phantump, Pikachu Visor Squirtle, Horsea, and Goldeen through related tasks. Finally, the Dragonflight Summit habitat hour, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will highlight Flying, Dragon, and Rock-type Pokémon, with potential encounters including Scyther, Gligar, Noibat, Bagon, Goomy, Turtonator, Aerodactyl, Shieldon, and Dwebble. Power-up tasks for each type are also available during their respective habitat hours, offering similar encounter rewards.
