Pokémon Go Fest 2026 is set to conclude with the Mega Finale event, scheduled for Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time. This event will reintroduce Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y into Super Mega Raids, alongside the return of Armored Mewtwo to five-star raids for the first time since 2020.
The Mega Finale event is free for all players, but a Go Pass system is in place. Players make a choice between Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, or Mega Greninja through a Timed Research quest, which influences the rewards they receive, including encounters with specific Generation 6 starter Pokémon and Mega Energy. A purchasable Deluxe Track for the Go Pass offers additional rewards, such as increased shiny odds for the chosen partner Pokémon and event-specific avatar shirts.
Event Activities and Raids
Throughout the Mega Finale, Mega Raids will be the sole raid type available in Gyms. The raid bosses will rotate in conjunction with the event's habitat hours, which feature four distinct habitats cycling every two hours on both days of the event. Mega Mewtwo X will be available in raids on Saturday, September 5, while Mega Mewtwo Y will appear on Sunday, September 6. Both Mega Mewtwo forms will feature updated movesets: Mega Mewtwo X will know Dynamic Punch+, and Mega Mewtwo Y will have Future Sight+. Dynamic Punch+ offers an Adventure Effect that increases damage against Mega Evolved Pokémon in Mega Raids and can break two shields in Super Mega Raids. Future Sight+ reveals Pokémon that will appraise as three-star or higher in encounters, making them glow.
The return of Armored Mewtwo is a significant draw, as this form has distinct stats from its regular counterpart and has only been available twice previously, in 2019 and during Pokémon Day 2020. Shiny Armored Mewtwo will not be available during this event.
Go Pass Choices and Rewards
The Go Pass: Mega Finale is tied to a branching Timed Research quest that began during the earlier Mega Ascension event. The player's chosen starter evolution, Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, or Mega Greninja, determines the associated rewards. For instance, choosing Mega Delphox grants Fennekin encounters, Mega Delphox Energy, and a potential encounter with a Delphox having a special background at Rank 100. Collecting Go Points for this pass continues until Sunday, September 6, at 11:59 PM local time, with a short grace period for reward collection afterward.
The Mega Finale features several bonuses. All players will benefit from increased catch candy, Candy XL, and XP from Mega Raids if they have purchased the Deluxe Track. Additionally, those with the Deluxe Track will experience increased shiny odds for event Pokémon and Pokémon encountered in Mega Raids. Players can also earn increased shiny odds for Pokémon encountered in the wild during the event.
