Pokémon Go's annual Halloween event has returned for 2026, split into two parts as is tradition. Part 1 of the event has arrived, introducing new costume Pokémon, event-exclusive research tasks, and a Halloween-themed Timed Research quest. The event runs through early November, with Part 1 concluding on November 1st and Part 2 beginning immediately after.

Halloween Timed Research

The 'Halloween Timed Research' quest is available for the entire duration of the event, ending on November 5th at 8pm local time. Players who complete this quest will receive six Rare Candies and an encounter with the Hat and Capelet Pikachu.

Field Research and Bonuses

Event-exclusive field research tasks are available during Part 1, offering encounters with various costumed Pokémon such as Top Hat Zubat, Halloween Mischief Piplup, and Headband Noibat for catching Ghost-types. Other tasks include making Nice Throws and winning raids, yielding encounters with Pokémon like Misdreavus, Duskull, and Bow Sinistea. The event also features bonuses including Lavender Town music playing nightly, Halloween decorations at PokéStops and Gyms, and new Halloween-themed stickers obtainable from PokéStops, Gifts, and the in-game shop.

New Costume Pokémon and Trick or Treat

This year's event introduces three new costume Pokémon: Hat and Capelet Pikachu, Top Hat Zubat, and Bow Sinistea. Players can also participate in a "Trick or Treat" mechanic, where spooky gifts left by Pokémon can be opened for candy rewards and encounters with special Pokémon like Spooky Festival Vulpix, Tricks and Treats Gengar, and Headband Noibat. Rare Candy can also be found through these gifts. A trick and treat box in Pokémon Go. An encounter with a costume Vulpix earned from a Trick and Treat box in Pokémon Go.
