The "Halloween Part 1" event for Pokémon Go has begun, running from October 27th to November 1st. This year's festivities introduce several costumed Pokémon, including the debut of Zubat and Sinistea in Halloween attire. Pikachu also receives a new costume.
A new gameplay mechanic, "Trick or Treat!", has been implemented, allowing players to interact with boxes found on the ground. These boxes may contain either costumed Pokémon or candy.
Event Bonuses and Go Pass
The event features a Go Pass system with 58 bonus ranks and 50 standard ranks. Players can earn rewards like costumed Pokémon and candy by playing the game. Milestones within the pass offer in-game bonuses, such as double catch candy at Rank 10 and double catch Stardust at Rank 20. The deluxe version of the pass, available for $7.99, offers enhanced rewards, including a patissier outfit. Earning points for the pass involves standard gameplay activities like catching Pokémon, winning raids, and hatching eggs, with additional daily bonuses available for completing specific tasks.
Timed and Field Research
A Timed Research quest is available and automatically completed upon logging in, rewarding players with several Rare Candies and an encounter with a Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet.
Field Research tasks can be obtained by spinning PokéStops. These tasks include catching specific types of Pokémon, making successful throws, and winning raids. Rewards for completing these tasks can include encounters with costumed Pokémon such as Piplup (Halloween Mischief), Noibat (headband), Zubat (top hat), and Sinistea (bow). Winning three raids specifically rewards an encounter with the costumed Pikachu.
Boosted Spawns and Raid Targets
During the event, certain Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. These include Zubat (top hat), Duskull, Piplup (Halloween Mischief), and Drifblim (Halloween Mischief).
Raid battles will feature specific Pokémon. One-star raids will include Pikachu (hat and capelet) and Sinistea (bow).
