Pokémon Go is set to feature the Water-type starter Sobble during its July Community Day event. This marks the final appearance of a Generation 8 starter in the Community Day lineup, following Grookey in January and Scorbunny in March.
The event will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time on Saturday, July 4, 2026. During this period, players will have an increased chance to encounter shiny Sobble, which debuts with this event. The shiny variant sports a more lilac blue hue, with a pink crest and lighter blue irises and spots. Its evolved forms, Drizzile and Inteleon, will also feature corresponding shiny colorations.
Trainers aiming for a perfect IV Sobble, often referred to as a 'Hundo' in the community, will find this event to be an opportune time. For players Level 30 and above, ideal CP values for a 15/15/15 Sobble are 940 CP at Level 30 and 1,019 CP when weather-boosted at Level 35. These figures may differ for players below Level 30.
Evolving Drizzile into Inteleon during the event or up to four hours afterward will grant the resulting Inteleon the exclusive Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. This powerful Water-type move boasts 80 Power for 40 Energy in Trainer Battles and 90 Power for 50 Energy in Gyms and Raids. While Inteleon is not a top-tier Pokémon for PvP or Raids, Hydro Cannon can be a worthwhile addition depending on player preference. In Raids, Snipe Shot offers more power for less energy, but Hydro Cannon provides better damage per second in PvP.
Numerous event bonuses will be active, including increased Sobble spawns, a quarter reduction in egg-hatch distance, and double Catch Candy. Trainers Level 31 and above will also have a doubled chance of receiving XL Candy from catches. Lure Modules and Incense will have extended durations during specific hours, with Lure Modules attracting Pokémon with special backgrounds and increased shiny odds from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM local time. Incense, used between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM local time, will last for three hours.
Additional event features include an extra Special Trade, a 50% reduction in Stardust cost for trades, and event-exclusive field research tasks that may yield Stardust, Ultra Balls, and Sobble encounters. A paid Special Research story will also be available.
Players are encouraged to take advantage of the boosted spawns and bonuses to hunt for shiny Sobble and its perfect IV counterparts, as well as secure the exclusive Hydro Cannon move for Inteleon.
