Pokémon Go players can now participate in the Ultra Unlock: Water Festival event, which commenced following the recent Go Fest 2026: Global. This event introduces several new Pokémon and offers various tasks and bonuses for players.
The Ultra Unlock: Water Festival event features the debut of three new Pokémon: Cramorant, Arrokuda, and its evolution Barraskewda. Players will also encounter Tatsugiri in raids, and the event culminates with the Starmie Super Mega Raid Day on Saturday, August 22nd, marking the release of Mega Starmie.
Throughout the event, which concludes on Monday, August 24th at 8 PM local time, various field research tasks will be available. Completing tasks such as catching Water-type Pokémon can reward players with Poké Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Pinap Berries, or encounters with Pokémon like Dewpider, Ducklett, Feebas, Clamperl, and Arrokuda. Additionally, Rainy Lure Modules will attract Arrokuda, and there is an increased chance of encountering shiny versions of Ducklett and Dewpider.
The event also includes rotating bonuses that change periodically. From Tuesday, August 18th to Thursday, August 20th at 10 AM local time, players will receive double XP for catching Pokémon and triple Stardust. This will then increase to triple XP and quadruple Stardust from Thursday, August 20th to Saturday, August 22nd at 10 AM local time. Following this, from Saturday, August 22nd to Monday, August 24th at 8 PM local time, the bonuses will further escalate to quadruple XP and quintuple Stardust.
Several Pokémon will be spawning more frequently in the wild, including Psyduck, Tentacool, Goldeen, Magikarp, Gyarados, Marill, Wailmer, Corphish, Feebas, Clamperl, Frillish, Mareanie, Dewpider, and Wimpod. Wiglett will appear more frequently in beach biomes.
Eggs collected during the Water Festival will be 5km eggs, with the potential to hatch Azurill, Mantyke, Frillish, Cramorant, and Water Festival-themed Pokémon. Raid battles will feature Tatsugiri in various forms, Lapras, Groudon, and Mega Garchomp initially. From Wednesday, August 19th, Hisuian Samurott, Lunala, and Mega Swampert will be available. Swim Ring Psyduck will also appear in raids.
A Go Pass is available for the duration of the event, from Tuesday, August 18th to Monday, August 24th at 8 PM local time. Players must claim rewards before Wednesday, August 26th at 8 PM local time. A free track offers rewards including Major Milestones and a Rainy Lure Module. Major Milestones, achievable by completing certain ranks, include a halved egg hatching distance during the event period.
