Nintendo has released an extended gameplay trailer detailing the upcoming free Dive update and the paid Bubbly Basin expansion for Pokémon Pokopia, both slated for release on August 5. The free update will introduce the new Dive ability, learned by Ditto, which allows players to explore underwater environments indefinitely. To access this content, players must first complete the "Raise the Environmental Level" mission in Bleak Beach and acquire the Jump and Surf moves.
The paid Bubbly Basin expansion, the first part of a three-part DLC pack priced at $34.99, adds a new underwater town. Players will arrive to find an abandoned village to restore, meeting Popplio and assisting in building new habitats. The expansion introduces buoyant blocks for constructing floating houses and other structures, which can be furnished with new ocean-themed items. During nighttime, Chinchou can be used to power light sources and other electronics. Bubbly Basin also features a deep, dark area explorable only with the aid of glowing coral, with its mysteries awaiting discovery.
Nintendo also teased the second part of the Expansion Pass, scheduled for release later this year, which will include Pokémon accessories and another new town. The roadmap indicates a third part, featuring yet another town, is planned for 2027. These DLC components will not be available for individual purchase, requiring players to buy the full Expansion Pass. Owners of the Expansion Pass will also receive the Dynamic Ditto print recipe and 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. The ingots can be claimed via a serial code sent to the registered Nintendo Account email or through the in-game Mystery Gifts feature. The serial code must be claimed by August 31 and redeemed by September 30.
