Pokémon Pokopia is embracing the Halloween spirit with its "Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises" event, running from October 17th to November 1st. This limited-time event allows players to acquire special Halloween-themed items and decorations by collecting Pumpkin Candy.
Earning Pumpkin Candy
To gather Pumpkin Candy, players must utilize the Camouflage ability. This involves disguising yourself as an item that a Pokémon favors. Once the Pokémon acknowledges the disguised player, indicated by a speech bubble above its head, players can reveal themselves to receive one to three Pumpkin Candy. It is advised to trick different Pokémon rather than repeatedly targeting the same one due to a hidden reset timer.
Players can also find the correct item to disguise as by observing the base items used in a Pokémon's habitat. For instance, if a Picnic Basket is part of a Pikachu's habitat, it can be used to trick that Pokémon. It's important to note that Pokémon may take longer to notice a disguise if they are engaged in activities like eating or conversing with other Pokémon.
Pumpkaboo's Habitat and Shop
The event introduces the "Give Me Something Good To Eat" habitat, which is specifically for Pumpkaboo. Constructing this habitat requires one Table, one Candy Bucket, and one Ghost Smoke Projector. These items can be purchased from Pumpkaboo's shop using the collected Pumpkin Candy. The shop is accessible within any rebuilt Pokémon Center once the event is active. A total of five Pumpkin Candy are needed to acquire all items for this habitat and add it to the Habitat Dex.
Event Items and Rewards
Pumpkaboo's shop offers a variety of Halloween-themed items, each with a specific Pumpkin Candy cost. Purchasing all available items from the shop will reward players with the "Trick or Treat" photo frame. The items available include a Huge Table, Candy Bucket, Fun Balloons, Pumpkin Lantern, Pumpkin Lantern Tower, Trevenant Streetlight, Cofagrigus Locker, Eerie Statue, and Ghost Smoke Projector.
Event Access
To participate in the "Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises" event, players must have rebuilt at least one Pokémon Center and learned the Camouflage ability from Zorua at Bleak Beach. The event is not available in Bubbly Basin or the Cloud Islands. Upon activation, a notification will alert players to visit Withered Wasteland. After speaking with Pumpkaboo in the Pokémon Center, its shop will become available for players to access.
