The first part of the expansion pass for Pokémon Pokopia, titled Bubbly Basin, is set to launch on August 5th for Nintendo Switch 2, The Pokémon Company announced. This paid DLC will expand the game's world with underwater environments, new Pokémon, and unique building mechanics.

Exploring beneath the waves presents a challenge for Ditto, whose ability to hold its breath is limited. To address this, a free software update releasing concurrently with Bubbly Basin will introduce the move Dive. This new ability, learned from Manaphy, will allow Ditto to breathe underwater, granting access to the new town of Bubbly Basin and the deep sea areas.

Within these aquatic locales, players will encounter a variety of new Pokémon, including Totodile, Poplio, and Finneon, which were previously inaccessible. Similar to surface gameplay, the objective in Bubbly Basin will be to enhance the town's environment level and establish suitable habitats for the encountered Pokémon. The DLC will feature dozens of new furniture items, a new crop to cultivate, and a smoothie recipe to unlock. A standout addition is the Buoyant Block, a tool that enables players to construct floating underwater structures, encouraging creative building with a magical aesthetic.

Key features arriving with the first part of the expansion pass include the Bubbly Basin town, a new deep-sea environment, fresh outfits for players, the Dive ability, the Buoyant block for construction, watermelon crops, a smoothie recipe, bubble machines, and a Surf move power-up. The Sharpedo submarine will also be a new addition.

Details for the second part of the expansion pass were also revealed, with a focus on customization. This portion of the DLC, scheduled for release in late 2026, will offer numerous accessories for Ditto and other Pokémon, alongside hundreds of furniture and decorative items. The third and final part of the DLC is slated for release in 2027 and will introduce another new town to the game.

Players who purchase the Pokémon Pokopia expansion pass will receive exclusive in-game rewards, such as the Dynamic Ditto print recipe and 30 Rare Pokémetal ingots.
