The upcoming 30th-anniversary set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game will include some of the rarest cards ever produced, according to reports. Secret cards featuring a monochromatic Mew, designated as 'RGB' variants, are said to appear in packs at an astonishing rate of one in 20,000.

These distinctive cards, marked with the letters 'RGB' and featuring three color variations (red, blue, and green), are tied to the original Pokémon Red, Blue, and Green games. While the full scope of the 'Future Rare' category, which includes Mew and potentially Mewtwo, is still being detailed, the rarity of these Mew cards has been a subject of fan speculation for months.

Initially, the authenticity of leaked images showing these unique Mew cards was doubted. However, as more authentic-textured cards have surfaced from early pack openings, their existence has been confirmed. The difficulty in finding them is now attributed to their extreme scarcity.

An insider at Millennium Print Group, the official TCG producer, reportedly shared details with a Pokémon influencer known as The Card Science. This individual, who provided identification to verify their claim, stated that the 'RGB' cards are being closely monitored within the production facility to maintain an element of surprise. The alleged rarity of one in 20,000 packs significantly outstrips the pull rates of even highly sought-after cards in recent sets. For context, a golden Mega Hyper Rare card typically appears in about one out of every 1,260 packs.

While these 'RGB' Mew cards are intended to be obtainable through purchasable packs, their odds place them as the rarest cards in that accessible category. This rarity contrasts with exceptionally scarce promotional cards or unique items like the approximately 40 Pikachu Illustrator cards in existence worldwide, which command millions of dollars and are not available through standard pack pulls. The 30th-anniversary set is slated for release on September 16.
