The Pokémon Trading Card Game's Mega Evolution series continues with its latest expansion, Pitch Black. This new set features Mega Darkrai prominently in its artwork, with Mega Zeraora also sharing the spotlight, visually representing a conflict between the two Mythical Pokémon.
Pitch Black adds more than 115 new cards to the TCG. As indicated by the series name, a significant focus is placed on Mega Evolution. The expansion also includes over 20 Trainer cards and more than 35 special-illustration cards. The Pokémon Company provided booster packs for review, offering a glimpse into the expansion's contents.
While a golden Mega Darkrai ex is noted as a potential crown jewel of the set, it was not among the reviewed pulls. Despite missing some of the most sought-after cards, the expansion's special-illustration cards, featuring Pokémon like Goldeen and Delphox, were highlighted for their attractive artwork, suitable for display. Several Zeraora and Silvally cards were also pulled, and the inclusion of Kalos starters and their evolved forms was seen as a positive aspect.
Pokémon Trading Card Game: Mega Evolution – Pitch Black is now available.
