Target has restocked the Pokémon Trading Card Game's Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection, making it available at its suggested retail price of $45. This restock is notable as it offers a deal that is competitive with, and in some cases better than, the current market prices seen on secondary marketplaces.
The Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection includes a foil promo card of Mega Zygarde ex, an oversized lenticular promo card of the same Pokémon, a Mega Zygarde ex tech sticker, and eight booster packs from the Perfect Order expansion. At $45, this works out to approximately $5.62 per pack. This is a favorable rate, especially when compared to standalone Perfect Order booster bundles, which can cost between $40 and $50 for only six packs, equating to roughly $6.66 to $8.33 per pack.
The Perfect Order expansion itself has seen a mixed reception. It is a smaller set of 124 cards, positioned between the larger Ascended Heroes and the upcoming Chaos Rising expansions. Unlike other major sets that often feature highly sought-after cards like Charizard or Pikachu that drive significant aftermarket hype, Perfect Order focuses on distributing higher-tier Illustration Rares across more fan-favorite Pokémon, such as Clefairy and Meowth ex. This approach makes the set more manageable for collectors aiming to complete their collections, fostering engagement among genuine fans who wish to play the game or collect cards without the extreme cost associated with completing massive sets.
While the Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection is part of the less universally popular Mega Evolution expansion, its availability at MSRP presents a significant opportunity for collectors. The collection's price point is also below the median price of $54.25 and the current market rate of $47.50 for the set on TCGplayer, though the latter offers a minor saving if the Target stock were to sell out quickly.
This is not the first instance of Target offering sought-after Pokémon TCG products at competitive prices, only for them to sell out rapidly. Other notable deals include Pitch Black Booster Bundles for $40 and Pitch Black ETBs for $70, available on Amazon.
