Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has received a significant update coinciding with its second anniversary, introducing new Dual Fusion booster packs and a highly requested feature: Community Decks.
This new system allows players to browse and utilize popular deck configurations directly within the game. Accessed from the Battle menu, the Community Decks feature presents a ranked list of the 20 most frequently used decks. Currently, popular choices center around powerful Pokémon like Mega Blaziken ex, Mega Charizard Y ex, and Mega Lucario ex.
The implementation aims to simplify deckbuilding for players who find it challenging. When viewing a deck, players can see if they possess all the necessary cards. If any cards are missing, the game will indicate how many are needed and highlight them. A convenient 'Edit This Deck' button allows users to clone a selected deck, customize it, and save it, streamlining the process of adopting meta-relevant strategies.
In addition to the public rankings, a Friends tab within Community Decks enables players to view and clone decks used by their contacts, fostering easier strategy sharing. This feature is intended to make the competitive aspect of the game more approachable and collaborative.
While the widespread adoption of top-tier decks may lead to some repetition in online battles, the feature also provides an avenue for players to identify overused strategies and potentially develop counter-decks. The update also includes solo battle overhauls and new challenges, offering more opportunities to test customized decks.
The Dual Fusion booster packs introduce cards with multiple types, adding new dynamics to the game's competitive landscape. The update is positioned as a substantial improvement for the game, addressing player needs for better deckbuilding tools and more engaging content two years after its initial release.
