Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Dual Fusion Expansion Arrives October 28, Adds Dual-Type Cards

The Pokémon Company has announced Dual Fusion, the next major expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, set to release on October 28. This update will introduce dual-type cards to the game, allowing Pokémon to possess two types simultaneously and offering new strategic possibilities.

Dual Fusion coincides with Pokémon TCG Pocket's second anniversary. Among the new additions are dual-type cards, a feature previously established in the physical card game, which are now making their debut on the mobile platform. Mega Mewtwo X ex, for instance, will be a dual Psychic and Fighting-type card. These new cards are also noted for their distinct illustrations.

To commemorate the game's anniversary, an event will run from the expansion's launch until December 14. During this period, players will receive a ticket redeemable for a booster pack that guarantees a two-star card. Following this, from December 15, players will have the opportunity to test out the new cards by renting six Dual Fusion decks.

Special Events for Pikachu and First Partners

In addition to the Dual Fusion expansion, Pokémon TCG Pocket is preparing other special events. The "Pika Pika! Pikachu Missions" event celebrates 30 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Running for one year starting October 20, players who log in for 10 days will receive a special Pikachu ex immersive card, available only during this event. Players can also acquire "Pika Pika! Pikachu" packs and accessories.

Beginning October 31, the "Special Pack: First Partners" will be accessible. These packs are opened using a unique pack stamina system that replenishes weekly. Each pack is guaranteed to contain a one-star card, with the cards featuring the first partner Pokémon from each of the nine established Pokémon regions. This event is scheduled to conclude on December 26.
