The Pokémon Company has revealed details for its next expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket, titled Ruler of the Skies, set for release on July 29 at 9 p.m. EDT. This update will prominently feature several Mega Evolution Pokémon cards, including the highly anticipated Mega Rayquaza ex.
Accompanying Mega Rayquaza ex are Mega Gallade ex and Mega Metagross ex, each showcased with distinct artwork. The expansion also includes other notable Pokémon such as Psyduck, Genesect, and Absol. Trainer cards Skyla and Wally, along with the Rainbow Cave stadium card, will also be available.
Ruler of the Skies introduces several new gameplay functionalities. Players will be able to share their custom decks using 2D pattern codes. Additionally, collecting cards from multiple booster packs will now register those cards across all instances. A new system also promises that if certain undisclosed conditions are met when opening a booster pack, the next pack from that same expansion will guarantee a card of four-diamond rarity or higher.
New missions and events are also planned. From late July through late October, players can participate in elite deck gift missions to earn a Fighting-type deck featuring Mega Lucario ex and Hitmonchan ex. The first half of August will host Ruler of the Skies Emblem Events, challenging players to test their skills against others.
