The Pokémon Trading Card Game is reportedly set to release its first-ever dedicated Valentine's Day collection on January 27, 2027. According to a report from Pokébeach, this new set, tentatively titled the "Pokémon TCG Valentine’s Box," will function more like a special release similar to the "Trick or Trade" Halloween series rather than a full expansion.
These seasonal sets typically include compact foil packs containing three cards, accompanied by sticker sheets. Following the precedent set by the Halloween releases which featured a special pumpkin-stamped Pikachu, the Valentine's version is expected to include a similarly themed Pokémon, potentially with a pink stamp.
The "Trick or Trade" range was initially conceived as a way to provide a Pokémon-themed alternative to candy for trick-or-treating. The reported Valentine's Box appears to follow a similar concept, with packaging and individual packs designed for sharing among friends or distributing in classrooms. The box itself is apparently designed to fold into a small cardboard mailbox, allowing it to be used for exchanging cards in a manner akin to traditional Valentine's Day cards at school.
Past seasonal Pokémon TCG releases have generally focused on reprinting existing cards rather than introducing new ones. However, these limited releases have often maintained strong secondary market value. For instance, the "Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle," last seen in 2025, contains 40 mini packs with three cards each and currently holds a market value of approximately $75.99 on TCGplayer.
The potential Valentine's Day release could be a significant product to monitor, especially if it follows the trend of being a limited seasonal item. Previous holiday-themed sets have reportedly sold out well before their release dates, suggesting that pre-orders could be highly competitive.
Details regarding the specific Pokémon featured in the mini set remain unconfirmed. Potential candidates include Pokémon with pink color schemes or those associated with themes of friendship and care. Sylveon, with its pink appearance and evolution tied to friendship, is a strong possibility. Other fitting choices could include Audino and Blissey, known for their nurturing characteristics, or even a Pikachu adorned in loveheart-themed attire.
