Pokémon TCG to Debut First-Ever Valentine's Day Set

The Pokémon Company is expanding its collectible trading card game offerings with the introduction of its first Valentine's Day-themed set. This new collection is scheduled to launch on January 27, 2027, following other significant releases planned for late 2026.

This upcoming set appears to follow a model similar to the 'Trick or Trade' Halloween set, which featured a collection of cards marked with a special stamp and focused on specific Pokémon types. While not officially announced by The Pokémon Company, speculation suggests the Valentine's Day set will likely incorporate pink and red motifs, potentially featuring Psychic-type Pokémon, and will include a unique Pikachu stamp, possibly in a pink color variant.

The set is expected to be released in smaller packs, suitable for distribution alongside Valentine's Day cards. As with recent Pokémon TCG releases, securing these sets may prove challenging.

This move toward seasonal, mainstream-appealing sets could potentially alleviate some of the demand pressure on the core Pokémon TCG releases. The previous 'Trick or Trade' set, released two years ago, consisted primarily of reprinted cards but still commands high prices in its sealed Booster Bundle form. The introduction of new seasonal collections like this one is seen as positive news for long-time fans.

Prior to the Valentine's Day set, players can anticipate the second major drop from the Pokémon 30th Anniversary line and the release of a Rayquaza-themed set in early November 2026. The 'Delta Reign' set is also slated for release in November 2026.
