Pokémon Unite Service to Conclude in March 2027

Pokémon Unite will cease operations on March 23, 2027, following its final competitive event, the Aeos Crown 2027, scheduled to take place in Tokyo just two days prior. The MOBA title will be shut down on both its Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.

The Pokémon Company announced that sales of Aeos Gems have been halted immediately. Additionally, new Unite Club memberships and any automatic renewals have been suspended. The company expressed gratitude to the players who have participated since the game's launch on July 21, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch version, and September 22, 2021, for Android and iOS devices.

Following the service's end, players will retain the ability to access a library feature to view certain records and in-game content. However, this functionality requires a data download to be completed before March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. Players who do not complete this download will be unable to use the library feature after the shutdown.

This news follows speculation that arose after Pokémon Unite was notably absent from the list of games for the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. The game's final update is slated for November and will include a special event offering Unite licenses and Holowear.

IGN's review of Pokémon Unite at launch described it as "an entertaining casual MOBA constrained by its overcommitment to simplicity (and some questionable microtransactions)."
