Pokémon Unite to Shut Down Servers in March 2027

The free-to-play MOBA Pokémon Unite will permanently shut down its servers on March 22, 2027, at 9 p.m. ET, The Pokémon Company announced. The game, which launched in the summer of 2021, will be unavailable on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS, following the closure. The reason for the service's end was not disclosed.

Leading up to the shutdown, Pokémon Unite will receive a final update on November 12, 2026. This update will feature a special event to help players obtain any missed licenses and holowear. A new "Library" feature will also be introduced, allowing players to view their in-game stats and unlocked content even after the servers are offline. The in-game shop will offer significant discounts on items like Battle Pass content and event-exclusive holowear to encourage additions to this Library.

To prevent further player spending, the purchase of Gems has been discontinued. Any unused purchased Gems will be refunded after the service ends. Existing memberships will remain active until their expiration date, but renewals will not be permitted.

The Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 tournament is still scheduled to proceed, concluding the day after the game's shutdown. For those who have invested time and resources into Pokémon Unite, the Library feature will provide a way to preserve and review their achievements and collected items.
