Pokémon has announced a new collection of festive plush toys, dubbed the 'Holiday Helper' series. The company shared images of the upcoming line across its social media channels, showcasing several Pikachu designs adorned with holiday themes.
The collection features a larger Pikachu dressed as a Christmas tree, complete with a star on its head. Smaller plushies, revealed to be keychains, show Pikachu in various expressions while wearing a Santa hat. One keychain depicts a sleepy Pikachu holding a cookie, another is covered in snow, and a third shows Pikachu riding on a Porygon. A notable item in the collection includes a Pikachu riding a sled, with the amphibious Pokémon Clodsire appearing to assist.
While specific release dates and pricing for the U.S. have not yet been detailed, the official Japanese Pokémon website confirmed the collection's arrival in local Pokémon Center locations on October 24. North American accounts stated the plushies are "coming soon" to the U.S. Pokémon Center. Last year, the Pokémon Center released its initial wave of holiday-themed merchandise in early November.
Based on existing Pokémon Center offerings, plush keychains typically range from 4 to 8 inches in height and are usually priced under $20. The larger Christmas tree Pikachu, with its rounded, Squishmallow-like appearance, could potentially be between 16 to 20 inches tall, similar to the 12-inch Squishmallow models that retail for $29.99. However, larger, self-designed plushies from the Pokémon Center can cost up to $79.99.
It remains unclear if the 'Holiday Helper' collection will expand beyond these initial Pikachu and Clodsire items, or if other holiday-themed merchandise, such as Tangrowth sweaters seen in the Japanese announcement, will be available internationally. The Pokémon Center regularly releases new merchandise, including seasonal collections like the Holiday Village figure series and various plush toys throughout the year.
