Beats by Dre has officially launched its collaboration with Pokémon, a special-edition Beats Pill wireless speaker. The device features artwork of both Pikachu and Mimikyu and is now available for purchase at Apple and Target for $149.99.
This new design is a colorway for the latest iteration of the Beats Pill, which was originally released in 2024. The 2024 model introduced significant audio upgrades, including a redesigned "racetrack" woofer designed to produce clearer bass with less distortion. The speaker's tilted angle aims to direct sound towards the listener. While the new model features mono architecture, users can pair two Beats Pills for Amplify or Stereo Mode.
The Beats Pill offers up to 24 hours of battery life, with a "Fast Fuel" feature providing two hours of playback from a 10-minute charge. It includes USB-C connectivity and supports reverse charging, allowing it to function as a power bank for other devices. The speaker also boasts an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
The design itself features a predominantly grey speaker, with Mimikyu rendered in grayscale. Pikachu is depicted in its classic yellow with red cheeks, sporting a somewhat confused expression. Small lightning bolt motifs accent the surrounding speaker.
Initial stock at Apple appears limited, with intermittent availability updates at Target. This release joins other merchandise celebrating various Pokémon anniversaries.
