The Pokémon franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new collaboration with instant photography brand Polaroid. This partnership introduces a limited-edition line of cameras, film, and accessories, drawing inspiration from iconic Pokémon designs.
The collection features three distinct cameras. A special edition Polaroid Now Camera Generation 3 sports a Poké Ball design, priced at $139.99. Two Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 models are also available: one featuring a Pikachu design and another with a Sylveon theme, both priced at $99.99 each.
Complementing the cameras are special edition films with unique Pokémon frames. The Polaroid Color i-Type Film - Pokémon Edition is available for $22.99. For the Polaroid Go cameras, film options include the Polaroid Go Color Film - Pokémon Pikachu Edition (double pack) and the Polaroid Go Color Film – Pokémon Sylveon Edition (double pack), both priced at $24.99.
A variety of accessories are also part of the collaboration. These include a Polaroid Go Camera Case – Pokémon Edition for $24.99, a Polaroid Go Photo Album – Pokémon Edition for $24.99, and a Polaroid Camera Strap – Pokémon Edition, compatible with both camera models, for $14.99.
Mathieu Galante, senior director of licensing at The Pokémon Company International, stated that the collaboration aligns with Pokémon's core values of discovery and connection, encouraging fans to capture and preserve meaningful moments. The collection taps into the recent resurgence of analog photography, particularly among Gen Z, who are embracing retro technology and seeking tangible keepsakes over digital sharing.
The Polaroid x Pokémon collection will launch globally in limited quantities. Pre-orders are set to open on August 25th via polaroid.com and the Pokémon Center in the US, UK, and Canada. The full release is scheduled for October 5th.
