Polygon has officially launched its sixth annual Halloween Countdown, a month-long series dedicated to horror entertainment. The 2026 edition promises a diverse slate of recommendations, extending beyond traditional horror films and television shows to include video games, books, and internet phenomena.
The series aims to provide a full month of "spooktacular recommendations," as stated in the announcement. This year's countdown will delve into cult favorites, lesser-known films, and horror content that aims to unsettle viewers. Polygon notes that the horror landscape is already robust in 2026, citing titles such as Obsession, Backrooms, Resident Evil, and Camp Miasma, as well as Shudder's regular releases, as examples of the year's plentiful horror offerings.
For those seeking immediate recommendations, Polygon also points to its 2025 Halloween Countdown. The outlet encourages readers to check back daily for new entries throughout October.
