Players can now sign up for a playtest of Daniel Mullins' upcoming title, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus. The developer, known for the genre-blending success of Inscryption, shared details of the playtest and a new trailer during the latest Triple-i Initiative event. To register for the playtest, interested individuals can visit the Pony Island 2: Panda Circus Steam page and express their interest.
In addition to the playtest announcement, the original Pony Island is available as a free download on Steam until October 12th. This limited-time offer allows players to acquire the first game permanently by adding it to their account. The original Pony Island, while simpler than its sequel, serves as an introduction to Mullins' distinctive design approach.
Pony Island 2: Panda Circus promises a diverse gameplay experience, incorporating elements from various genres. The trailer showcased features such as sidescrolling pony riding, 3D exploration with archery combat, bullet heaven sequences, dungeon-crawl-like segments, and minigames including clown-themed challenges and a Pac-Man-style diversion. The game also includes FMV cutscenes. Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is slated for release on April 27th, 2027.
