LEGO enthusiasts looking to expand their collections may find it challenging to keep track of sets slated for retirement. Each month, LEGO discontinues certain sets, making them unavailable for purchase directly from the company or most major retailers after their official retirement date. This month is no exception, and a significant number of these soon-to-be-retired sets are already out of stock on LEGO's official website. However, Amazon still has several of these popular items available for those hoping to acquire them before they are gone.
The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set, which has been a highly popular release in recent years, is among those scheduled for retirement at the end of July. Its availability has been limited since its sunsetting was announced, and once a popular set is completely sold out, it typically can only be found at inflated prices from third-party sellers.
Amazon currently has eight retiring sets in stock, covering a diverse range of themes from LEGO's extensive catalog. These include offerings from Star Wars, One Piece, and the well-regarded Botanicals line. For some of these sets, this may represent a final opportunity to purchase them at their original retail prices, and a few are even currently discounted.
Among the available Star Wars sets is the Home One Starcruiser from Return of the Jedi. This 559-piece set measures over a foot in length and includes a display stand with an information plaque, along with a miniature Nebulon-B Medical Frigate to illustrate scale.
The Star Wars Acclamator-Class Assault Ship, featured in the Battle of Geonosis from Attack of the Clones, is also available. This model comprises 450 pieces and stands just over six inches high and nine inches long, making it suitable for display without taking up excessive space.
For fans of One Piece, the Battle at Arlong Park set recreates a key scene from the first season of the Netflix series. This 926-piece set comes with five minifigures: Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Arlong, and Chu.
The Mario Kart line sees the retirement of Toad's Garage. This 390-piece set includes two brick-built Toad figures, a Standard Kart vehicle compatible with other Mario Kart sets and figures, garage accessories, and classic Mario Kart power-ups like red and green shells.
In the Botanicals collection, the Lotus Flower set offers a relatively quick build at 220 pieces. It features three brick-built flowers, each measuring over a foot long. It is currently available on Amazon for $8.99, down from its usual $15 price.
The LEGO City theme includes the Donut Truck set, a 196-piece build that resembles a typical food truck, complete with miniature donut bricks and a brick-built donut topper. This set includes two minifigures.
Another LEGO City offering is the Robot World Rollercoaster. This set features a functional rollercoaster track and is constructed from 986 detailed pieces, including eight minifigures.
Finally, the LEGO Technic line features the Bugatti Bolide. This 905-piece model is an accurate representation of the real-life vehicle and serves as a detailed display piece for enthusiasts of LEGO and racing.
