Capcom's first fiscal quarter of 2026 has seen significant financial gains, driven in part by the unexpected success of its new title, Pragmata. The company's financial report reveals that Pragmata has sold over 2.5 million copies since its release earlier this year. This sales milestone is notable for a new intellectual property from Capcom, which typically relies on established franchises.
While the game has garnered positive reception for its puzzle design, character interactions, and narrative moments, its initial release hype was not as pronounced. Despite this, Pragmata's strong sales performance has contributed to Capcom's robust financial standing. The company is now on track to meet its full-year earnings forecast, with net sales increasing by 54.7% and operating profits by 66.9% year-on-year. This stands in contrast to the previous year, which was impacted by lower-than-expected sales of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Capcom also cited the Devil May Cry animated series and the latest Resident Evil release, Resident Evil Requiem, as key contributors to their sales figures. Resident Evil Requiem has achieved over 8 million copies sold since its launch, a considerable increase from its March figures. The strong performance across its portfolio suggests a renewed confidence for Capcom in developing and marketing new worlds and game concepts.
