Capcom has officially confirmed that its upcoming sci-fi adventure game, Pragmata, will feature a Mega Man-themed in-game skin. The announcement, made during Gamescom Opening Night Live, arrives after years of fan speculation linking Pragmata to the Mega Man franchise. While the game is not a Mega Man title, the Blue Bomber will appear as a cosmetic option for Pragmata's protagonist, Hugh.
The speculation surrounding Pragmata’s connection to Mega Man began shortly after its 2020 reveal, fueled by the game's lunar setting, its focus on robots and artificial intelligence, and the design of the android character Diana, whose jacket sleeves bore a resemblance to Mega Man's arm cannon. Capcom had consistently denied these theories, with Pragmata producer Naoto Oyama stating in 2025 that the game was a completely new intellectual property. The studio even playfully leaned into the rumors with an April Fools' video depicting Hugh in an elaborate Mega Man costume.
This playful acknowledgment has now materialized as a genuine in-game cosmetic. The Mega Man skin will allow players to dress Hugh as the iconic robot hero, though it will not alter the game's narrative or gameplay mechanics to turn it into a Mega Man adventure. Details on how the skin will be obtained have not yet been revealed.
The Pragmata Mega Man skin announcement followed the unveiling of a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override. This upcoming title marks Capcom's first mainline Mega Man game since Mega Man 11 in 2018. The trailer showcased the game’s traditional 2D side-scrolling action, introduced a new boss character named Twinkle Girl, and hinted at new gameplay features, including potential armor transformations or upgrades for Mega Man. Mega Man: Dual Override is slated for a 2027 release on multiple gaming platforms, with a specific launch date yet to be announced.
