Sony has detailed the first batch of PlayStation Plus monthly games for 2026, revealing a three-title lineup for January. The trio will be available to add to players' libraries starting January 6 and remain playable as long as the subscriber remains active on PS Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium. The announcement, published December 31, places this month as more modest than December’s five-game spread.
The games are Need For Speed Unbound on PS5, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed on PS4 and PS5, and Core Keeper on PS4 and PS5. Unbound is the 25th mainline Need For Speed release and features a cel-shaded art style that gives the racing game a distinct look. Rebrushed is a 2024 remaster of the 2010 platformer directed by Warren Spector. Core Keeper is a top-down pixel-art crafting simulator that has continued to grow with free updates, including one named Void & Voltage slated for later this month.
During this cycle, Core Keeper is commonly regarded as the strongest value of the trio, given its ongoing updates and accessible design. Need For Speed Unbound offers familiar arcade racing with a fresh cel-shaded look, while Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed provides a remastered gateway into a classic platformer for players who missed the original. Sony notes that these titles join the permanent library for subscribers across Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers, so they can be installed and played whenever desired.
Sony's January 2026 PS Plus lineup is modest but serviceable, especially for Core Keeper fans; last month’s pre-holiday slate was more generous, but the trio still provides a diverse cross-section of PlayStation's ongoing subscription strategy.
