Krafton has revealed PUBG Ded Net, a new multiplayer FPS spin-off that diverges significantly from the traditional battle royale formula. The game is set in the fictional world of Cascadia during the 1990s and is described as combining shooter gameplay with roguelite progression, where "death is only the beginning."

The announcement was made during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event. Details remain scarce, but interested players can sign up for testing on the Ded Net website. This move aligns with developer Krafton's broader strategy to establish PUBG as a multimedia universe encompassing various titles and genres beyond its flagship battle royale game. While some previous expansions have faced challenges, such as the horror game The Callisto Protocol, which was initially conceived as a PUBG title before severing its ties to the franchise, and the defunct PUBG Blindspot, Krafton continues to explore new avenues for the brand.
